DAY 5 (Thursday)
Day 5 opened with alot of rain coming down. We were all bummed, because today, in addition to all of the tourney's, there was also going to be a large "Woods Battle". This would be in the hills north of the camp, and would finally allow small group actions and large line battles to occur. With the amount of rain coming down tho, it was clear this was not going to happen, so we spent the day at the movies. We saw "I, Robot" and had a nice late lunch/dinner. Then, as the weather was getting better, we headed to Pennsic for late night adventuring. Tora (I'll blame him here) had heard about a party called "The Men Without Pants" party. Susposedly this is a pretty cool event, originally designed for guys with kilts. We had no kilts, so our long tunics and cloaks had to do....
We lost Hadrurus for a little while at the "Men Without Pants Party" because he had forgotten his I.D. But Tora, Khalida and I stepped in. There was a check of a dozen or so ladies at the front of the camp to ensure that the men had "no pants". Each lady would ask, "Front, Back or Ladies Choice?". If you chose "Back", which was the gentlemanly choice, they would run their hand up your backside to ensure there was no pants on. I think poor Tora got checked at least once before he could tell his preference....:)
Inside there were several camp fires in which dancers were performing, and one fire pit in which some fire breathers were putting on a show. There was also a large booth with a dozen ladies and gentlemen in it, selling kisses for $1/second. With a gleam in his eye, Tora collected some money (which I happily helped with) and asked the ladies in the booth who was the most "enthusiastic" kisser. A buxom lass stepped forward and claimed she was. When Hadrurus showed up a short while later, before he knew what was happening, Tora led him thru the crowd to the booth, gestured to the lady, and pushed young Hadrurus forward. Before he could even draw a breath, this young lady give Hadrurus a brain imploading kiss...for at least 10 seconds. As Tora would say, as a Pirate Captain, he takes care of his men! There were several dance contests that night, but the rain started coming down now and then, which put a damper on things.
We stayed at the party for a while, but eventually the occasional rain shower got to be too frequent and too hard, so we called it a night. We were crossing our fingers that there would be better weather for the next day.
